What is the East Midtown Greenway Project?
The East Midtown Greenway is a project that is managed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) but involves multiple city agencies. The project seeks to build a greenway from 53rd to 61st Streets to begin to connect the disjointed segments of Community Districts 6’s waterfront esplanade; provide waterfront access and public open space for the residents of our district and the public at large; and to link our district’s waterfront esplanade with the continuous esplanade that exists north of East 60th Street.
