Midtown Tunnel Marginal Streets Rehabilitation Work

The MTA is performing construction on sidewalk walls, masonry, replacement of damaged bricks, replacement of any loose material, and clearing away some of the weedy growth on the Queens Midtown Tunnel’s Manhattan side. The current stage of rehabilitation work encompasses the Tunnel Exit Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues), from East 37th Street to East 41st Street. Work will occur between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, unless otherwise noted. The work will require a single north-bound lane to close for the current block being worked on. The work will be going on through December or early next year, depending on progress. (last updated October 22, 2019)
