Manhattan Community Board 6 has launched a conversation about improving our East River waterfront — an area shaped heavily by aging infrastructure and evolving community needs. To help inform that discussion, CB6 commissioned a comprehensive report examining current waterfront conditions, including the FDR Drive’s role, and exploring a range of possibilities for enhancing access to our waterfront, resilience, and quality of life. At the March 13, 2024 Full Board meeting, CB6 presented a summary of the report’s findings and potential long-term visions for strengthening our waterfront.
