Board Member Resources

The Manhattan Borough President’s Office appoints new members to Manhattan’s Community Boards each year to fill vacancies.  New Board members have been selected for 2015.

Becoming a Community Board Member
The Manhattan Borough President’s office is currently reviewing applications for Community Board membership. Community Boards represent their neighborhoods on crucial issues including real estate development & land use, historic preservation and even liquor licenses. To apply, fill out the online application.    Click here for complete application instructions and a link to download a paper copy of the application.  After submission you may be contacted regarding the next steps in this very selective screening and interview process.

Public Members are selected at the discretion of the Board Chair.  They are assigned to one committee, and can vote within that committee but not at Full Board meetings.  Apply to become a CB6 Public Member. CB6 Public Member Application-2016
